Home-made tree system

Full Home-made tree system

(Bill Funkhouser, Arcata, CA):

"I wish people could see the quality and durability of brewtree products. The weight and durability of the goods they offer is not apparent until you hold it in your hands. I was sure I could save a bunch of money by building my own brewtree yet when I went to the hardware store I was shocked to find that most of the things that brewtree offered were either a) not available or b) much lighter weight AND more expensive. The 1/2 inch valves alone were $9 at the hardware store and only $4 at brewtree. The drill I would have needed to cut a 7/8 hole in my kettle was $30 at the hardware store! Having brewtree drill the hole for $10 was a bargain. The hardware store laughed when I submitted the list of stainless steel parts, propane hardware and specialized O-rings I wanted. They simply didn't carry such high quality hardware.

I love to build things myself. I can weld and I enjoy making numerous trips to the hardware store. Yet even I would rather have purchased my brewing apparatus from brewtree. The process of building it myself was much more time consuming and frustrating than I ever expected and in the end, I don't have nearly as nice a brew system as they offer. The gang at brewtree have put a lot of thought into the design of their products. They have the supplies, tools and experience to make a far better product than I can and in the end I would have saved some money and a lot of frustration if I had gone with a pre-made brewtree."

Best,

Bill
