Chiller specially made for cooling wort samples to hydrometer calibration temperature (70F) to insure a correct reading.
Extremely handy when brewing beer because you just don't have time to wait for the wort to cool.
Installs inline with your water manifold or you can simply connect using the supplied Garden Hose connections.
Includes a ball valve on the base of the unit to allow easy dumping/reusing of wort sample (no need to throw away good wort - just add back to the boil kettle when done taking a sample)
Also handy for testing the wort's PH if you live in an area with hard water (which is more basic - what you prefer as a brewer is a more acidic mash)
Testing PH helps to aid in consistency, but is really not necessary unless you have special water conditions. The ph of your local water will not change much over time - so your beers WILL be consistent even if you don't mess around with PH.
A necessity for checking the PH of Homebrewed SOFT-DRINKS which is critical for food safety. Cools sample to room temperature in no time.
Fits most standard brewers hydrometers.
