Counterflow Wort Chiller
Instructions
Thank you for purchasing a Chill Quick Wort Chiller, sure to provide years of dedicated service.
NOTE: THESE CHILLERS ARE NOT DESIGNED TO BE USED WITH PELLET HOPS...ONLY USE WHOLE HOPS OR HOP PLUGS, AND STRAIN THEM OUT (i.e. using a BREWTREE HOPBACK or muslin bag) BEFORE TRANSFERRING WORT THROUGH CHILLER.
Pellet hops disintegrate and turn into a "sludge" that can clog the chiller. If this happens, use a wire to dislodge the hops by running the wire through the copper tubing, then flushing the chiller with water using a high pressure nozzle.
Before Use: Always flush the unit with boiling hot water followed by an iodophor sanitizer. Leave unit full of sanitizer until use, allowing fresh beer to push the iodophor sanitizer out of the unit. Wait until you see that the outflow is 100% wort before transferring to fermentor.
To use: Chiller May be bent for packaging/shipping purposes only, and can easily be re-bent into position. The inlet and outlet ports may also be adjusted by using a hex driver or flat-head screwdriver to remove the clamps, then turning the ports to the desired position. If any resistance is felt, loosen the compression fitting nut that the copper tubing is passing through.
It is always wise procedure to check the unit for leaks before full service. Leaks may be overcome by tightening the clamps and or compression nuts.
Thermometer: The thermometer is fully adjustable. Hold the nut in the back of the unit, while turning the face piece. Watch the dial to line up to the correct temperature. The unit is easily adjusted when placed in boiling water (212 Degrees Fareheit).
We hope you enjoy brewing with our chiller and look forward to seeing you again on ebay, and please feel free to browse our website for great deals www.brewtree.com .
